2. What are cookies?

Consent management: Our cookie consent mechanism on partner white-label sites (such as lbshome.uinsure.co.uk) is provided by CookieYes. On our main website (uinsure.co.uk), consent signals are enforced via our consent management configuration within Google Tag Manager.

Cross-domain consent: Because our services span multiple domains and partner websites, your consent choices may be stored separately on each domain. Accepting cookies on uinsure.co.uk does not automatically set the same preferences on a partner white-label site, and vice versa.

4. Categories of cookies we use

We group our cookies into the following categories. The specific cookies deployed may differ across our websites; the tables below reflect cookies identified during our most recent audit.

User experience analytics and session replay

Important note about session replay tools (Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity): These services are user experience analytics tools that may record mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behaviour to generate session replays and heatmaps. We configure these tools to avoid capturing personal data entered into forms. However, session replay technologies may capture user interactions such as clicks, scrolling, and page navigation. Cookies and similar technologies may also operate via third-party domains controlled by those providers, such as hotjar.com and clarity.ms. You can opt out of Hotjar tracking at https://www.hotjar.com/policies/do-not-track/ and Microsoft Clarity at https://choice.microsoft.com/.

4.4 Advertising and marketing cookies

These cookies are used to deliver advertisements that are relevant to your interests and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. They may be set by our advertising partners and used to build a profile of your interests. Cookies in this category may be set on third-party domains such as linkedin.com, doubleclick.net, demdex.net, and everesttech.net. All advertising and marketing cookies require your consent.

4.5 Other / uncategorised cookies

From time to time, we may identify cookies that have not yet been categorised. This can happen when a new service is deployed or a third-party script is updated. We aim to categorise newly identified cookies promptly, typically within our next scheduled review cycle. If you have questions about a specific cookie, please contact us.

5. Third-party services

The following third-party services are active across our websites. Each service may set its own cookies as described above. Links to each provider’s privacy policy are provided so you can understand how they process data independently of Uinsure.

6. Cookies on the quoting platform and identity provider

When you log in to the broker quoting platform at quotes.uinsure.co.uk, you are redirected to our identity provider at idp.uinsure.co.uk. This site uses only strictly necessary, first-party session cookies to authenticate your session (such as ASP.NET session cookies and anti-forgery tokens). No analytics, marketing, or third-party cookies are deployed on the identity provider.

7. International data transfers

Some of the third-party cookie providers listed above are based outside the United Kingdom (for example, Google LLC and LinkedIn Corporation are based in the United States). Where cookie data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as described in our Privacy Notice. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to Standard Contractual Clauses, and transfer risk assessments.

9. Cookie audit and review

We conduct regular audits of the cookies deployed on our websites to ensure this policy remains accurate and that only authorised cookies are in use. Where new cookies are identified, they are assessed, categorised, and added to this policy as part of our next scheduled update.
