Uinsure has set out its marketing intentions for 2019, which includes giving away hundreds of branded stuffed toys this month to mock the nature of price comparison websites.
This year will see Uinsure ramp up its efforts to help financial advisers take on the aggregators, following on from a smaller campaign targeting the price comparison websites in 2018.
Jason Berry, director of sales at Uinsure, said: “After speaking to a number of advisers, it was clear that their biggest challenge this year would again be competing against the PCWs.
“The ‘Beat the Comparison Sites’ content we produced last year went down tremendously well, so it was clear that we needed to take this to another level.
“We’ll start by highlighting the absurdity of giving away stuffed toys with insurance policies. A home insurance policy is one of the most important things that someone will buy in their lifetime and the expression ‘you get what you pay for’ has never rang truer.
“To trivialise this can result in homeowners taking out low quality cover that will leave them underinsured. That’s why we’re giving away stuffed toys of our own to our advisers, for them to share with their clients and potential clients.
“Now homeowners won’t have to choose between 5 star-rated cover and a cuddly toy – they can enjoy both and can feel safe in the knowledge that they have blanket cover in place.”
